Rapid Fire Xbox Controller Modes Explained
A rapid fire Xbox controller turns one trigger pull into a fast, steady stream of shots, and a good one lets you choose exactly how fast. Every Premium Controllerz modded controller is a genuine Xbox controller, hand-built in Phoenix, Arizona, with a programmable chip packed with modes. This guide covers what rapid fire does, how to turn mods on and off, how to switch between modes, and which consoles it works with. The quick version, along with the full mode list, is on our Instructions page.
What rapid fire does
Normally a semi-automatic weapon fires once each time you pull the trigger. With rapid fire on, you hold the trigger and the controller repeats the shot for you at a set speed, measured in shots per second (SPS). Burst modes fire a set number of rounds per pull instead.
Different weapons and games work best at different speeds, so instead of a single on/off "turbo," our chip gives you a range of speeds from 6.5 SPS up to 20 SPS. It also has burst, akimbo, drop shot, jump shot and quickscope modes. Actual SPS can vary by game.
When you don't want any of it, turn the mods off and the controller behaves exactly like a stock Xbox controller.
Every mode explained
How to activate any mode
1. Set up: install AA batteries and sync the controller to your Xbox.
2. Turn mods on: press the custom button on the back of the controller. The LED flashes once.
3. Go to the next mode: press the back button again.
4. Go back a mode: hold LT and press the back button.
5. Check your mode: the LED flashes the number of the mode you're in. For example, it flashes 7 times for mode 7.
6. Turn mods off: hold the back button down until the LED flashes off.
The controller remembers your last mode, even after it powers off, so you don't have to cycle through every time you play.

How to switch and calibrate modes
Switching takes a few seconds. Press the back button to step forward, hold LT and press it to step back, and count the LED flashes to confirm your mode number. Because the controller remembers your last mode, you only switch when you want something different.
There's nothing to calibrate. The controller calibrates itself, so it's ready to play as soon as it's synced. Watch it in action below:
